Contingency team expands offering in UK and Australia
London, June 22, 2010
Beazley’s contingency team has recruited two
new staff members in order to expand their service offering in the
UK and Australia. Michael Price has joined the UK team while
Alastair (Al) Dart will be based in the Brisbane office where
Beazley already has an established presence offering Accident &
Health products.
Chris Rackliffe, head of Beazley’s contingency
team, said: “There is no doubt that awareness in the market of the
need for event cancellation insurance has increased significantly,
whether that is against weather, other natural catastrophes or
man-made events. In particular, we are seeing many more enquiries
from Australia due to a growing events market which is one of the
key drivers for having a presence on the ground in this
region.
“We are looking to enhance our existing broker
relationships by providing additional resources to work with them;
offering local expertise, a faster turnaround and the ability to
service the business in the same time zone. This will allow us to
continue to deliver the specialist knowledge and capacity for which
Beazley is known.
“In the UK, we recently launched Beazley
Access – an online system which enables brokers to get instant
quotes and access policy documentation for a wide range of events.
This has helped to improve our access to a growing regional market
for the products we can offer. Michael will work alongside our
contingency team and our broking partners to expand our offering to
the wider contingency market, as well as continuing to develop
Beazley Access.”
