Byran Lee will lead charge on building distribution across region

Beazley has appointed Byran Lee as head of partnerships for Asia Pacific responsible for leading the insurer’s distribution strategy and key relationships across the region.

In this newly created role, he will focus on developing long-term partnerships with well-established local insurance companies and brokers with the appetite to embed Beazley’s specialist products into their insurance offerings.

With a strong underwriting background, Byran has been with Beazley since 2006 when he was involved in establishing Beazley’s Singapore office on the Lloyd’s Asia platform. He is also principal officer for Singapore, a position that he will continue to hold.

Operating on the Lloyd’s Asia platform, Beazley provides specialist insurance and reinsurance solutions across the region and is currently investing in strategic appointments to increase its local underwriting presence.  It also writes reinsurance business through Lloyd’s Insurance Company (China) Ltd and has a strategic partnership with Hong Kong-based managing general agent Pegasus.

Byran Lee said: “We are keen to collaborate with strong local cedants that share our goal of bringing high-quality products and services to policyholders. We are developing flexible solutions befitting this highly diversified market, operating on both a specialty treaty and facultative basis and developing white labelled products in partnership with clients and brokers.”

Lucien Mounier, Beazley’s head of Asia Pacific said: “Through a deep understanding of the needs of our clients and their customers, we are developing products and services that complement their existing offerings and build long-term distribution partnerships. Byran’s knowledge of this market and technical capabilities will bring great focus and impetus to this strategy.”
