Corporate overview
Our participation in the Lloyd’s market gives us access to brokered
business from around the world and our corporate structure also
enables us to underwrite admitted business in the United
States.
Through our Lloyd’s syndicates, we are
licenced to trade surplus lines insurance and reinsurance in the US
and 68 territories worldwide. Beazley Insurance Company, Inc.
enables us to underwrite risks on an admitted basis in all 50 US
states. All of our insurance business entities are rated ‘A’
by A.M. Best.
Our Specialty Lines division has built a
strong local presence in the US, with more than fifty claims
managers and underwriters writing a range of professional liability
and management liability products. These US-based underwriters
focus on mid-market and small risks, and are able to bind either on
Beazley Insurance Company, Inc. (admitted) paper, or on Lloyd’s of
London (surplus lines) paper on behalf of Syndicates 623 and
2623. Target classes include architects & engineers and
technology companies for E&O coverage, and both public and
private companies for D&O and employment practices liability
(EPL) coverages.
In the US, our Commercial Property team also
writes on an admitted basis through Beazley Insurance Company,
Inc. This operation targets mid-sized clients written on a
traditional (100%) basis that desire a risk management level of
attention. We are especially aggressive in retail, real
estate, hospitality, and nursing homes, offering coverage of up to
$100 million per location. Key areas of differentiation
include a London style of underwriting authority, broad coverage in
an admitted form with a manuscript look and feel, coupled with
contract certainty and transparent underwriting.
