Beazley at Lloyd's
Beazley Furlonge Ltd, the Lloyd's managing agency, was established
in 1986 to underwrite specialist insurance products through
Syndicate 623. After listing on the London Stock Exchange in
2002 and raising £150m, Beazley established Syndicate 2623 to
underwrite in parallel with 623.
The 2008 capacity for the combined syndicates is £814m and all
business is split 2623 (81%) and 623 (19%). Syndicate 623 is
supported by traditional Lloyd's capital.
Both Syndicates have an A.M. Best rating of A (Excellent) and
also benefit from the Lloyd's chain of security.
Beazley in the US was established in 2004, initially to
underwrite surplus lines on behalf of Beazley Syndicates 2623/623
at Lloyd's, and is based in Farmington, CT. Beazley now writes a
growing volume of business on an admitted basis in the United
States for the account of our US admitted carrier, Beazley
