Professional liability is a broadening class of
insurance. Companies that have not historically been classed
as professions now run growing professional liability (also known
as errors and omissions) risks.
Beazley is a leading insurer of traditional
professions, such as lawyers and architects and engineers, as well
as other businesses that face growing professional liability
exposures, such as software companies, consultants, media
companies, and retailers. Our US clients are served both by our
underwriters at Lloyd's and by our local US-based underwriters,
including our dedicated private
enterprise team that focuses on the needs of smaller scale
clients.
We provide our services principally through
four integrated teams of underwriters and claims experts. In
addition, we use our experience and expertise in these classes to
reinsure other companies that focus on professional liability
insurance.
Architects &
Engineers (A&E)
We insure more than half of the top 50 US design firms as ranked
by Engineering News-Record. Since 2005, we have also been
underwriting A&E risks locally in the United States, on both an
admitted and non-admitted basis, for smaller firms. In addition to
broad coverage that includes a wide range of technology-related
exposures, we provide in-depth risk management advice.
Lawyers
We insure a third of the Am Law 200 top
US law firms and hundreds of smaller firms. We offer tailored
coverage, risk management advice, and expert claims service to US
law firms of all sizes and practice areas.
Healthcare
We are a leading insurer of US hospitals
and long term care institutions, as well as providing coverage for
a wide range of miscellaneous healthcare risks, such as blood and
tissue banks, clinical research organizations, and nurse staffing
agencies.
Technology, Media &
Business Services
We insure two thirds of the top 25 global software and software
services companies as ranked by Software Magazine. Our
team is skilled at crafting insurance coverages that help
technology, media and business services clients seize new
opportunities in some of the most competitive and dynamic markets
on earth.
