Our approach to claims
We know that our clients have different views
of what constitutes excellent service, depending on the type of
insurance they have purchased. There is no “one size fits all.”
For many clients, speed of settlement is
paramount and, wherever possible, we seek to streamline our
processes to achieve this. For other clients, particularly those
holding professional and management liability policies, we aim to
provide an effective response to third party lawsuits. These
clients want to know that they have a knowledgeable and competent
insurer “in their corner” to support and coordinate their defense
strategy.
Across all our business lines, we aim to
deliver a standard of claims service that benefits our clients and
brokers in the following ways:
- Responsiveness and transparency. With Beazley, you should
never be in the dark as to who is handling your claim and as to the
status of that claim.
- Experience and insight. The claims we receive are often
technically complex. Our claims professionals have a depth of
experience that is rare in the insurance industry and the expertise
to resolve the most complex claims
efficiently.
- The right contacts. Over the years we have built up a
vast network of professional contacts – including specialist legal
counsel – able to help us speed the resolution of complex claims
and, for our management and professional liability lines, conduct
an effective defense.
- Close partnership with underwriters. Unlike many
insurers, we ensure that our underwriting and claims professionals
work side by side. For our clients this ensures that, when a
claim arises, the intent behind the original policy is
respected.
