Beazley Wins Reactions Award
Beazley's Political Risk expertise is recognised at the
Reactions London Market Awards
London, June 13 2008
Beazley won the award for Best Insurance
Company Underwriting Political Risk at the Reactions London Market
Awards last night. The award was based on a poll conducted by
Reactions Magazine among brokers, insurers, reinsurers and risk
managers.
Beazley has been underwriting political risks
since 1997. In February this year, the Political &
Contingency Group (PCG) became a new division within Beazley
Group.
Adrian Lewers, Head of the Political &
Contingency Group, said, “We are delighted to receive this
award. This reflects the market’s recognition of the depth of
our underwriting team’s expertise and the value we seek to deliver
to brokers and clients. We are in a risk environment which is
increasingly complex and we believe this places an even greater
emphasis on underwriting excellence.”
Beazley insures both traditional political
risks such as nationalization, expropriation and currency
inconvertibility, and an increasing range of political violence
risks, including terrorism. The team also specialises in
short and medium term credit and structured credit in emerging
markets.
