A solution for stocks and goods in transit.

What we offer

Traditional Cargo cover excludes cyber risks where there is the intent to do harm, leaving a gap in protection. Our innovative solution fills this market gap, providing cargo clients with valuable cyber cover for this accelerating risk.

Our new Cyber cargo solution offers affirmative cyber cover throughout the supply chain, whether under the care of first or third party.

The cyber cargo policy covers physical loss or damage to the client’s property during transit and storage at specified locations, caused by a Cargo Cyber Event and resulting in:

  • fire or explosion
  • vessel or craft being stranded grounded, sunk or capsized
  • overturning or derailment of land conveyance
  • collision or contact of vessel craft or conveyance with any external object
  • general average sacrifice
  • jettison
  • theft
  • sprinkler leakage
  • temperature variation

How can we help

This market leading solution is designed to address the risks associated with storing and moving goods in an ever digitised world.

  • Modular  - The policies are complementary to our other marine and cyber products and can be bought separately or as a package.
  • Risk mitigation services -Reducing the likelihood of a cyber incident from occurring is of primary importance. This makes the risk mitigation services that we offer of great value.
  • Beazley Security - With roots that stem from the specialty insurance industry, Beazley Security focuses on a layered approach to ensure that every preparation and precaution is considered; that technical defenses are in place and operating optimally; and that teams are prepared, trained, and ready to act when needed.

Examples or Scenarios

Aggregation risks - The largest accumulation of insured property is typically when it is stored awaiting transportation. Other than for large organisations the insured owner of the property is typically not responsible for the storage, property or transportation as arranged by a logistic broker. Perishables and pharmaceuticals have specific requirements around conditions for storage and transportation including temperature.

Scenarios:

  • Geographical widespread prolonged power outage
  • Multiple vessels delayed / potential for vessel damage loss of cargo
  • Port Cranes hack resulting in PD to cargo.
  • Port closure prolonged results in vessel power outage.
  • Corruption of land base transport system
  • Temperature monitoring SaaS provider outage
  • Temperature monitoring technology corrupted at source – coding error during manufacturing that can be exploited.

*as determined by the terms and conditions of the policy.
