Adrian Cox

Adrian began his career at Gen Re in 1993, underwriting short-tail facultative reinsurance. In 1997, he moved into the treaty department, where he specialised in both short and long-tail business, with a particular focus on financial lines. He joined Beazley’s Specialty Lines division in 2001 and has since held a range of senior roles, including Underwriting Manager, Head of the Long-Tail Treaty Account, and leadership of both the Private Enterprise and Large Risk teams. In 2008, he assumed overall responsibility for Specialty Lines.

Adrian was appointed to the Beazley plc Board in 2011. Between 2013 and 2015, he relocated to Chicago on secondment, where he played a key role in establishing Beazley’s US governance and platform infrastructure. His work during this period was instrumental in launching strategic initiatives that continue to influence the organisation today.

He became Chief Underwriting Officer in January 2019 and was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer in April 2021.
