Cyber Defence for Marine: Services & FAQ

Overview

Reducing the likelihood of a cyber incident from occurring is of primary importance. This makes the prevention services that we offer of particular value in order to mitigate the risk and assists in demonstrate compliance with regulations.  

There are three elements to the preparedness services included in your policy:

  • Self-assessment questionnaire that focused on you company's procedures.
  • High-level assessment workshop.
  • On-board assessment survey of a vessel. 

Self-assessment questionnaire

The self-assessment can be accessed via the "Getting started" section of the portal or directly via the link at the end of this document. It is provided by DNV GL, a leading advisor on quality and safety to the maritime industry.

The assessment consists of around 70 questions and will take a few hours to complete in full. You will receive an initial high level feedback through this process.

High-level assessment workshop

Following completion of the self-assessment, DVN GL will schedule an assessment workshop with you. 

On-board assessment survey of your vessel

The finals stage of the process is for DNV GL to contacts you to book your vessels on-board cyber risk survey.

You will receive your final report within 21 days of the survey being completed.
