Insurance is our business, but as individuals and as a company we have ambitions that extend beyond our commercial objectives. We want to use our expertise, influence and passion as a force for good in our local communities and the wider world.

Of course, being a responsible business starts with how we do business - the ethical framework within which we operate. In some organizations the reality falls short of the rhetoric. At Beazley we walk the walk.

We are proud to be in the insurance business. We believe strongly that the insurance we offer is itself a source of enormous value, not just to our clients but to society at large. Insurance helps individuals, businesses and communities pick themselves up after potentially catastrophic events and rebuild. And some of our products go even further. For example, our healthcare underwriters work closely with hospitals to incentivize them to invest in measures that will improve patient safety.

This picture was taken in the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.  The simulation mannequin is used to run training drills.  The baby is affectionately known as “Beazley,” having been purchased through premium rebates that Beazley had returned to the hospital.

Through our charitable giving we provide focused support for a small number of charitable organizations that we know well and whose work we greatly admire. In the US, we support the Cancer Research Institute and Shelterbox. But we also provide matching funding for employees supporting other causes - often local charities - that are dear to their hearts.

A team from our Boston office cooked and served meals to the homeless.

The contributions of our people extend well beyond the financial. With the company's encouragement and support, Beazley employees lend their skills and energies to a wide array of causes in their local communities. In this, our thirtieth anniversary, we've expanded on our regular Make a Difference global community volunteering month in September to become "30 Days of Making a Bigger Difference," holding events across all of our offices to help support our local communities and charities.
