Over three decades Beazley has evolved from a specialist Lloyd's syndicate transacting business exclusively from the Beazley "box" at Lloyd's in London to a global insurer with offices in Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and across the United States.
We are structured in a manner that is different from many insurers, with global underwriting and claims teams serving brokers and clients across multiple locations. So, for example, our management liability team has underwriters in London and across the US, both of whom underwrite US risks. In general, our Lloyd's underwriters focus on the larger, more complex risks, particularly where syndicated capacity is required. Large D&O risks, large commercial property, and professional liability for major US law firms, engineering firms and hospitals are all underwritten in London.
One major benefit of the Beazley structure is that good product ideas that have shown their worth in one market can be rapidly transferred to other markets. For example, our flagship data breach product, Beazley Breach Response, was first launched in the US in 2009 and is now available to clients in the UK, France, Italy and Canada.
