What we offer
We offer 'full value' policies that include cover for 'basic' (named perils), 'broad' (named perils plus falling objects, weight of ice and snow and water damage) and 'special form' (all risks).
Subject to the terms and conditions of the policy, we will pay claims for fire, explosion, flood, windstorm, earthquake, Difference in Conditions (DIC), Wind Deductible Buy Back (WDBB), and Earthquake Deductible Buy Back (EQDBB).

We typically underwrite risks with a risk limit of less than US$ 1 million, but we can cover risks with an insured value of up to US$ 5 million for any one risk, with a maximum insured value of US$25 million.

- Construction risk
- Night clubs
Small commercial package
We offer a commercial package product with insured values of US$ 5 million or less in the USA and Canada.
Hartford Steam Boiler’s (HSB) equipment breakdown coverage can be accessed via our binding authority contracts on agreement from the HSB Team.
We underwrite small, medium and high valued homeowner insurance in the US (excluding California), Canada and the rest of the world in partnership with local Coverholders from our base at Lloyd’s.
Our target business is US$1 million or less but we can write up to US$5 million in insured value (excluding limits for personal liability and medical expenses.)
Forced placed property
This provides fire and extended coverage, all risks of physical loss or damage insurance related to loans for which no proof of insurance has been provided to the mortgagee.
We indemnify loss to movable or specialised types of property and equipment. This form of insurance developed out of ocean marine insurance and includes property coverage for construction equipment, medical diagnostic equipment, fine art, solar panels, wind turbines, cameras and movie equipment, musical instruments, and a wide variety of other types of property.
Our motor portfolio largely includes commercial automobile physical damage and Motor Truck Cargo (MTC) across the USA. We will consider both owner-operated and fleets of all sizes.

Our delegated authority team comprises a group of specialists in small commercial, residential and motor insurance. We value long term relationships, and we have worked with a number of our clients for more than 20 years.
We seek to develop long-term partnerships with Coverholders that can demonstrate expertise in the risks they underwrite, an intimate understanding of their territories and a stable track record with a healthy balance between size of risk and premium. Another key differentiator is that commercial general liability claims are managed by our own claims adjusters, based in the USA, which means that we can provide an excellent local claims service. We also have a dedicated wordings team that work closely with our underwriters and brokers to finesse the wordings of policies to the specific needs of their clients.

Examples or Scenarios
An insured suffered a major fire loss at their distillery products facility, which due to complexities with the age and build type of the property, meant that there was significant potential for a long-term business interruption loss. Our claims team worked closely with the adjustment team and supported the insured’s use of its own machinery experts to assist in the quantum evaluation. Within a few weeks, we had made significant interim payments to bolster the insured’s cash flow and enable them to make a series of both permanent and temporary repairs in order to keep their operations running.
Through working closely with the insured and their broker, we were able to help them to gain certainty over their future operational capabilities. As a result, they proceeded to construct a new plant with an increased output capacity on the exterior of the existing premises. Our proactive and long-sighted approach to the settlement of the claim cemented an already long-standing relationship with the client.
